Frequently Asked Questions

Are the models really free?

Yes. Models in the library are free to download for personal use. Each model page lists the STL and/or 3MF files that are included.

Do I need an account to download?

No. Downloads and the customizer work without signing in. A free membership (email and password) is available on the Join page if you want an account.

What printers do the models work with?

They are designed for common FDM printers with a 0.4 mm nozzle. Check the model's dimensions against your build plate, and use the print settings listed on the model page as a starting point.

Do I need supports?

It depends on the model. Each model page states whether supports are needed. Our guide on reducing supports explains how to orient parts to avoid them.

PLA or PETG — which should I use?

PLA is easiest to print and works well for indoor decor and desk items. PETG handles heat and moisture better, so it suits parts used in bathrooms, kitchens or outdoors. Our PLA vs PETG guide compares them in detail.

Can I sell prints of your models?

Free downloads are licensed for personal, non-commercial use: print them for yourself, your household and gifts. To sell physical prints, ask us for written permission first. Reselling or redistributing the digital files is never allowed. See the License page.

Can I resize a model?

Yes. Uniform scaling in your slicer works for most models; after scaling down, check that thin walls and small details are still printable. Our scaling guide covers the details.

How does the customizer work?

The name plate customizer runs OpenSCAD inside your browser. You type your text and options, it generates a real STL file on your device, and you download it. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

How do custom design requests work?

Describe your idea, size, printer and material on the Custom Design page. Sending the form opens your email app with the details filled in. We reply with a quote before any work starts, and nothing is charged until you agree.

My print failed — where do I start?

Clean the build plate, check that the first layer is squished evenly, and slow down outer walls on small parts. Our first-layer and small-model settings guides walk through the most common fixes.
